Hi! My name is Bruce Garvin, and I have Multiple Sclerosis. I need my scooter everywhere I go. I've tried everything that's available to get my scooter from place to place, click here to see. I know how to design and build something that works. So I came up with the ScooterHitch.

I wanted something that I can unload quickly, so I can pop into the store for a quick gallon of milk. It's got to be physically easy to use, because I don't have much strength left. It's got to be light, strong and well balanced, so I can use it on my Chev Cavalier, without making it drive funny.

I wasn't trying for any certain cost. Whatever it cost, that would be fine. Funny thing is, ScooterHitch ended up costing less than anything else out there. And it works better. I'm happy with it, and you will be too.

And tough? I also design and build heavy industrial equipment, and I know what it takes to design durability and strength into a product.

ScooterHitch Corp. was started by Bruce Garvin, handicapped with Multiple Sclerosis. I'm on my scooter all day, and I use the ScooterHitch every time I go somewhere. If a new feature or a design change doesn't work for me, we don't offer it in production. I've solved all the problems with using a scooter carrier.

Our platform remains stationary, it does not tilt. When a tilting platform snaps back to level, most handicapped people don't move fast enough to move with the platform. Instead, they are thrown down to the ground.

Our ramp is easy for me to tilt back up, and it locks in place automatically. The guard rail around the scooter (a scooter is often a handicapped person's most valuable possession) is 6" tall, so that the scooter won't bounce out. All the little details are in place so that a handicapped person can operate it easily and safely.

Our drawbars are all one piece welded construction. Custom made drawbars are available at no extra cost, so that the ScooterHitch sits at the correct height for easy loading by a handicapped person.
